Upper Ganges Sugar & Industries Ltd. (UGSIL) belongs to the renowned K.K. Birla Group of Companies. K.K. Birla Group is a major player in key industries like fertilizers, chemicals, heavy engineering, textiles, shipping, media etc. apart from sugar. From a modest beginning in 1932, UGSIL has grown to become the pioneers in Sugar Industry. It is one of the largest and rapidly growing company in the Sugar Industry.
Smt. Nandini Nopany, Chairperson cum Managing Director, is in the overall management and is the driving force of the Company. Shri C.S. Nopany, Director, is actively involved in the affairs of the Company and assists the Managing Director in the overall management of the Company.
Through organic and inorganic modes of growth, the Company has cautiously but consistently grown from a single unit sugar manufacturing company to a company having three sugar manufacturing units with an aggregate crushing capacity of about 18,000 tonnes of sugarcane per day (TCD), Distillery producing 100 kilo litre per day (KLPD) of industrial alcohol/ethanol, two Co-generation Power Plants with a total capacity of 42 MW Power, Bio-Compost plant producing organic fertilizer and Tea Garden. |
