Company was incorporated under the name of Upper Ganges Sugar Mills Ltd.
Commissioned a Sugar Mill at Seohara, Dist. Bijnor in the state of Uttar Pradesh with a capacity of 500 TCD & started business.
Established a Distillery at Seohara (U.P.) with a capacity of 1.10 lac gallon per month, which was transferred to Alco Chem Ltd., a subsidiary of the Company.
Oil Mill was set up at Chandausi (U.P.) to manufacture groundnut oil.
Morton Confectionery & Milk Products Factory at Marhowrah (Bihar) was taken on lease from C. E. Morton (India) Ltd.
Distillery was merged with the Company w.e.f. 1st April, 1976.
Confectionary factory at Marhowrah (Bihar), taken on lease from C & E Morton (India) Ltd., also merged with the company effective from 1st July, 1976.
The company purchased a Tea Garden called “Cinnatolliah Tea Garden” situated at North Lakhimpur (Assam).
The name of the company was changed to Upper Ganges Sugar & Industries Limited.
Purchased Bharat Sugar Mills, a unit of New India Sugar Mills Ltd., having a crushing capacity of 1000 TCD at Sidhwalia, Distt. Gopalganj (Bihar).
Increased the crushing capacity to 7000 TCD of Seohara Unit.
Increased crushing capacity to 1750 TCD of Sidhwalia unit.
Carbon-dioxide plant of 6600 Tons per annum capacity was installed at Distillery Unit of Seohara Plant
Increased crushing capacity to 10000 TCD of Seohara unit.
The confectionery Unit at Marhowrah (Bihar) closed operations.
Commissioned a new Bio-compost plant with a capacity of 20000 Ton per year at Seohara Plant
Increased the crushing capacity to 2500 TCD at Sidhwalia Unit.
Ethanol Plant was commissioned with a capacity of 60 KLPD at Seohara Plant.
Taken over the sugar division of New India Sugar Mills Ltd., having a Sugar Mill of 1750 TCD at Hasanpur, Distt.- Samastipur (Bihar) w.e.f. 1st October, 2004 pursuant to the Scheme of Arrangement approved by the High Court of Allahabad.
Chandausi Oil Mill Unit was sold.
Commissioned a 24 MW Co-generation plant at Seohara Plant.
Capacity of Distillery at Seohara Plant was enhanced to 100 KLPD.
Increased the crushing capacity to 5000 TCD of Sidhwalia Unit sugar refinery unit and a Co-generation plant of 18 MW was commissioned.
Increased the crushing capacity to 3000 TCD at Hasanpur Unit.
